Fresh Laser Skin Studio’s Covid 19 Policies

We are following the requirements provided by the Alberta Government. Our goal is to keep everyone as safe as possible, while still providing great services to our clients. The following policies have been approved by our medical director and are currently being followed. Some changes in the isolation requirements have change and it is advisable to check out the following link, Alberta requirements, if you have any concerns.

Clinic Policies for Covid 19

Limited staffing – up to 5 employees at the clinic at any one time (4 full time employees, 2 part time employees, 3-5 employees during the week, 2-4 employees on Saturdays)

Appointments must be booked in advance, including product pick-ups. No drop-in services permitted.

Covid 19 Screening Questionnaire is posted on the door, as well as, contained in confirmation and reminder emails. If any answers are answered yes, the appointed will need to be cancelled.

Entering the clinic, everyone must be wearing a mask and have a surface temperature reading of the forehead, including staff. Temperature must be less than 37.5 degrees C to continue entry into clinic.

Physical distancing cues for clients are designated with round decal signage on the floor. Clients are taken into a treatment room asap to fill out digital forms etc.

Treatments rooms continue to be cleaned with hospital grade disinfectant between clients. BioText is used on all material surfaces and 70-99% is used on equipment and hard surfaces.
Added disinfection protocols now include treatment room door handles and client personal use designated area and chairs in treatment rooms.

Hand sanitizers liquid and/or wipes are readily available for client use entering and leaving the clinic.

Retail and related skin care samples are only handled by staff members. All retail stock is secure to prevent handling by customers.

Floors are cleaned a minimum of once daily with antibacterial solution. All high touch surfaces are disinfected after each client including the POS machine, washroom keys and front office chairs. Interact e-transfer payments also available.

Technicians continue to wear gloves during treatments and discard after client treatment, as well as washing hands. Protocol now includes wearing a mask during client treatments. Client also must wear a mask and is only removed if the treatment is on the face, and it is placed back on before leaving the room.

Clinic Policies if known client/personal contact has tested positive for Covid 19

Staff who have had known recent contact (within 14 days, not wearing a mask and not social distancing) with a person that tested positive for Covid 19, must have a test for Covid 19 and wait for a negative test result before returning to work. If test for Covid 19 is positive with no symptoms, a 14 day isolation period from contact date, or 10 days after symptoms subside will be required. Retesting must be done with a negative result before returning to work.
If FLSS is informed that a client, we recently treated, has tested positive for Covid 19, all staff need to be informed of the incident. However, since precautions are always in place for clients entering the clinic, everyone should be safe. If there is any doubt Covid 19 testing should be done.

If a staff member calls in sick with symptoms, they will need to get Covid 19 testing done and be informed they have a negative result, before returning to work. If a client calls to cancel an appointment due to not feeling well, the appointment may not be rescheduled for 10 days.

The Covid-19 Screening Questionnaire is sent out in our service confirmation and reminder emails. It is also posted on our front door to read before entering the clinic.

COVID-19 SCREENING QUESTIONNAIRE

Please read the following screening questions before entering Fresh Laser Skin Studio:
If you answered YES to any of the following questions, please DO NOT enter at this time.
Please give us a call at 403-264-4494 to reschedule your appointment.
Cancellation fees WILL NOT apply.

  1. Do you have any of the below symptoms:
    • Fever (greater than 37.5 degrees C)
    • Cough
    • Shortness of breath/breathing difficulties
    • Other symptoms such as muscle aches, fatigue, headache, sore throat, runny nose, diarrhea. Note symptoms in young children may be non-specific – e.g. lethargy, poor feeding
  2. Have you travelled outside of Canada in the last 14 days?
  3. Have you had close contact (face-to-face contact within 2 meters/6 feet) with someone who is ill with cough and/or fever?
  4. Have you been in contact in the last 14 days with someone that is being investigated or confirmed to be a case of COVID-19?
  5. Does your work involve possible laboratory exposure while working with specimens known to contain COVID-19?

If none of your answers are yes, please come in and we will check your forehead surface temperature(contactless) to ensure it is less than 37.5 degrees C, and we will direct you into a clean, disinfected treatment room (as usual).
Please wash your hands and/or use hand sanitizer before and after your visit. Your technicians will wear gloves (as usual) and will also wear a mask throughout your treatment.
